Swedish retailer launch NFC loyalty programme, developed by Tarento

Tuesday 24th of  January ICA presented a digital NFC (Near Field Communication) loyalty program for ICA To Go, their new branch for a convenience store format aimed at “health conscious” dwellers.

Tarento was selected as ICAs partner in this project and has adopted this future technology for iPhone and Android phones. Every lunch purchased, gives the customer a stamp in their loyalty card which is visible directly in the application, this will replace the old “paper card”. After six collected stamps the seventh lunch is for free. The delivery consists of 3 parts:

  • iPhone Android, Mobile Webb applications
  • Cashier application with code generator andNFC-reader
  • Backend, Loyalty Cloud solution

For ICA this will also give them the opportunity to find out more about their customers behavior and how they accept the new technology.

The Global ad market for mobile marketing will, according to Gartner Institute, grow from 1.6 billion USD in 2010 to 20 billion USD in 2015. For Tarento, this is a way of showing the customer, and the market, our high skills and new technology awareness. Everything from idea generation, strategy, development and testing is done by Tarentos team in Stockholm and Bangalore.

We are very pleased with all the attention, below you will see a number of links to external media, which pointed out the project.
